Why no free tier?

VaultBase is open source (AGPL-3.0). Self-host with unlimited users and storage, forever, for free. The cloud plans are for people who don't want to run infrastructure.

Can I add more storage?

Yes. Additional storage is $2/GB/month on any plan. Added from your dashboard, billed with your subscription.

Can I add more users?

Upgrade to the next tier, or contact us for a custom plan. Enterprise plans have no user limits.

Can I migrate from cloud to self-hosted?

Anytime. Your vault is plain markdown files. Export the directory and point a self-hosted instance at it.

Do AI agent API keys count as users?

No. API keys are tied to a user account but don't count as additional seats. One user can have multiple API keys for different agent roles.

What happens if I cancel?

30-day grace period. Your data is archived and downloadable. After that it's moved to cold storage for 90 days before deletion.
